removing a rounded allen bolt ?

i refer to the answer i gave some moments ago...

Won't work on a bolt that small; it'd just twist the end off such a small screwdriver.

The only viable option is to drill the bolt right out of the clamp and replace the clamp; most people have a spare - I do and I don't have GripShift!

Found one on the ground outside Halfords the other day...

Shifter? Who's talking about a shifter?

Not me

NOOO, I am referring to a BAR END, sir... of the plug variety that stops one kebabing oneself

You may get lucky and find that when you attempt to drill it the bit may spin the bolt straight out; that's what happened with the rounded countersunk hex bolt in the canti' hanger on my Z1's...

But drilling, by definition being clockwise, won't undo it.... someone had their drill going the wrong way

For your amusement, easy outs are colloquially called called "ørnepik"in Danish, which translates as "boars cocks".

My drill has a reverse lever

Drilled the head out, reversed it and spun the bolt out with a bit of pressure (could even cut a slot in the head and re-use it at a push) - job done 8)

That's because 'ornepiks' are corkscrew shaped, which is why breeders have to 'help' the boar put it in...
