anyone got any tips on how to do this ?

the bolt attatching my tensioner to the dropout is completely bald and i want to remove it !

this is not helping my hangover this morning !

are there any little screws that can be drilled into the bolt and then unscrew it out type thing ? :?:

i guess you mean cross threaded? unfortunately the metal of the bolt is often harder than the metal it screws into, and once it's crossthreaded in, it will take the threads out on its way back out

oh and protip: wait til you feel healthy before spannering your bike

haha yeh you would have thought i'd learnt my lesson by this age !

i meant that the hole you put the allen key into on the bolt is circular instread of hexagonal, not sure if thats cross threaded or not ? no way of removing it then ?

ohhhhh, the bolt is rounded

you can try getting a torx key slightly larger than the bolt, force it into the hole and if it isnt too tight it can spin the bolt out

otherwise you're into the realms of easy-outs

yeh rounded not threaded, sorry, hangover strikes again

i think it might be an easy out job then ! will i need to drill a pilot hole for one of those ?

thanks for that link

Imperial allen key cut off so that it is just a shaft and hammer it in. Then, get an imperial socket on it.

I'd be wary of easy - outs, if they snap (and they are brittle) you've got a bigger problem on your hands.
