removal of anodising

I can see your belly in that reflection....I thought you were thin for some reason

Its the reflection they make me look large.. Honest.. ;)

I can also see a large french stick to the left of the reflection as well....this helps explain the belly

I think you'll find thats a large toblerone... and yes that would explain things a little..

Pmsl......this is making my ribs hurt this laughing

What are you going to do with the toblerone though si :?:

The only problem with this is that the caustic isn't just removing the anodising - its removing the aluminium too. Only a very small layer (well depending on how long you leave it - one method for removing stuck aluminium seatposts in steel frames is to pour caustic down the seat-tube and wait for the post to dissolve). This isn't noticeable on a crankset etc but I'd wonder about doing this to a headset were bearing tolerances etc are more important.

It'll probably be fine though

Mr Muscle Oven cleaner and a scourer successfully removed the blue ano from an USE seatpost I brought from ebay a few weeks ago.
Do in a well ventilated area spary on and leave for 5 mins then scrub. Clean off and repeat until the ano is all gone, then rinse and leave to dry. Then polish with autosol.

Carl.
