Hi folks.
Testing the water here really, I built this up with a selection of some of my favourite parts intending to use it occasionally as my retro beauty.
However, with a recent change of job, and a baby due in January I might have to let this go as there is simply no room for it and my commuter/missus bikes.

All parts are either brand new, NOS, or mint 9/10 old stock.
The 96 steel cindercone frame and forks were powder coated beautifully by another member before I bought them and is pretty much flawless. At the same time it also had a rear cable stop added in order to use V-brakes without any adaptors, basically updating it to 97 spec but with the (arguably) nicer 96 Decals.
The build spec is mostly M739 XT, with a few XTR M950 bits thrown in for good measure. Spec as follows:
Triple Butted P2 forks
XT M739 Levers
XT M739 V's
XT M739 Shifters (IMO Shimano's best ever) 8sp
XT M739 Chainset 8sp
XT M739 Rear Mech 8sp
XTR M950 Front Mech 8sp
XTR M950 Cassette 8sp
XTR (UN72/3?) B/B
SRAM 8 speed chain
Chris King Aheadset black
ControlTech Newtom stem 130mm (or Ritchey WCS 120mm)
Thomson Elite Seatpost (or USE Titanium)
USE Atom Carbon riser (or White Azonic Wolrldforce Riser)
Mavic CrossRide wheelset
Tioga amber Psycho K tyres
Genesis White saddle Ti rails
Titanium Ahead spacers
Transfil white carbon cables
IM KEEPING THE PEDALS

Basically, Imagine a 'new' high spec 97 Steel framed Kona...and this is it. It looks fabulous in the flesh. I will supply more pics at request as these are the only I have to hand at the moment.
As you will see the build isnt quite finished in the pics (too busy sorting out the baby's nursery!), it still has the chain, shifters and grips to be added. Please ignore the NOS XT thumbies in the pics, the bike will be supplied with mint M739 8sp rapidfire shifters (thumbies possibly negotiable)
Sorry for the poor quality pics.

I can happily swap out the USE carbon bar for a tasty brand new Azonic WorldForce riser in White to match the colour scheme that I havent got around to fitting yet, I can also swap out the tyres for NOS Green WildGrippers or new blackOnza Porc's, and the seatpost for a USE Ti, and adjust the price accordingly, just PM me and we'll work out a deal.

Right now i'd be happier to see the bike sold whole and ridden by an enthusiast. For this reason ill be taking a fair hit on the build price. If I dont have any joy selling it whole I will then consider splitting it in the new year and recouping more of my costs or possibly keeping it (at my folks place).
Just sourcing the parts was enough of a challenge, but someone will love this good as new bike at £575

If I hadn't already bought the kids' prezzies, they'd be getting what I used to get - an orange each and be grateful!

VERY pretty!

Cheers Dave, she is q beauty.
Ironically I'm actually getting a child for Christmas this year if the missus doesn't pop sooner!

Cheers guys.

Bike is now sold to a delighted p3tester.

I may get around to adding a pic of the new owner with his nice shiny purchase...
