Red Sun rims not sure if they suit this build opinions?

Long live the high posts 8) Comes with the territory for us giants.

Back to red.
This is my ti in red garb(Which is now in purple) From this pic I changed the cranks to AC in red, 2 rings leaving the middle , had the rotor splines(5 bolt) anodized red, changed the tech x2 to red levers and bore caps, along with the hope seat clamp, grips, skewers.
Typically I didnt take a final pic before going purple but it was very very flash :D

Are you sure those are cracks :? Only cracks normally appear on the outside where the nipple is secured, rather than the inside where theres no pull pressure, it is double walled so to crack it doesnt make sense to crack on the inside section. And around the valve hole is also a funny spot.
The corrosion can be addressed with a drill countersink bit, to clean up the edge. Just takes a small chamfer off.
Must take extremely high pressure to try to split it apart on the inside :?

Disk holes, its overtightened obviously, but again the rotor is secured by 6, and you'd think the pressure and security is holding on around the entire rotor, which is stainless steel and acting on all rather than a single.

Its incredible you ride a bike for years then notice some cracking like it happened minutes ago and consign it to the bin, when in truth its been like that for months or years.

Yes its definately cracked i gave it a little scrape on the edge of the hole with a screwdriver and it chipped away along the line of the crack.

Yes it is a strage place to go ive not seen it before. I took the rim tape off the clean all the grit out behind it and thats when i noticed it. I had shwalbe maraton racer tyres on them at 60 odd psi. These wheels have been stored in the loft for about 2 years after i stripped down the bike they were on.

I was going to use them on the kona but decided i wanted some lighter mavic 517's.

I suprised i managed to overtighten the rotor bolts i only had a tiny torx key on them not like me. Maybe theres not enough matirial around the threaded hole on them as its not just one of them thats done it.

I wouldnt want someone to have an accident on the damaged wheel so I thought it was best to err on the side of caution.

Re:

Though not common; rims do crack as yours has and the only way you know is by inspection or failure. There are some pics, here and there, on tinternet of Velocity rims with these cracks.

I wonder if they crack because of stress caused by turning the extrusion into a hoop and rims with a coarser grain simply burst?
