Hi all. Finally ruined my faithful Nike shoes at Lee Quary yesterday

I'd have the same style again but Nike no longer make them. Anyone got any recommendations for what I should go for? They need to be quite wide fitting and be ok for walking in. Don't want to spend too much as money's better spent on parts/bikes then clothes

Bontrager or Specialized, both make comfy and well priced shoes.

al. :D

I second Specialized. If you've large feet stay the hell away from Shimano, they're phukking TINY! Diadoras are narrowed too. Sidis are lovely but bloody expensive though quite grippy in mud and you can replace bits on them.

I've had a pair of Northwave last me for the past 6 (daily use for the past 2) years and can recommend them. I've replaced them with a pair of Diadora shoes, it's early days but I'm very impressed with them.

Each to their own.

Thanks for the help gang. My nike's were not retro but I can't remember the name. They're black with velcro straps and I got them in 2005.

I'll check out the threads and look at some Specialized shoes. :D

Another vote for Specialized but if you can stretch to it go for Sidis - you would probably need a size larger than you normally wear. EBAY can produce bargains if you know your size!
