Wife has bought something and it needs transporting on a pallet.. I think it is classed as 1/4 pallet because it's under 250kg. . .

Got one quoting £55. . . but I've never done the pallet thing before so not sure on prices and companied etc. .

as a one off £55 is not bad, I pay between £40-£45 for odd pallets, as I usually do full loads. All I will say is lots of packing !!! and be prepared for a grumpy delivery/collection driver.

We're not packing, thankfully, and the contents aren't particularly fragile..
But I will pass the advice on ;)

That quote was including transport with a tail-lift so . .which they emphasised..
Isn't that a standard thing for a pallet-load of gear??

Tail lift and pum truck the driver may get it to ground level but rarely any further, a swift cup of tea may sort this out.

Once it's here we can deal with it.. no need for driver intervention once it's on the ground.

The seller is a lass though... she won't be able to get it from where it's palleted to t'truck....
