Recommendations for a decent retro full sus frame....??

Orange Mr XC, although my first choice would be the Santa Cruz...the Juliana is the small-size optimised version. I'd suggest it is retro as it is essentially a Heckler.

Did them down to 14" size in the Heckler range.

Re:

I can highly recommend the Giant ATX 970/990. Not so easy to find in small sizes but by god they're light, and have such an efficient suspension system.
Like Marins, check for swingarm cracks on the older pre-98 models but you'll often find a Giant with shock for somewhere between £50-90..

In no particular order;

LTS - nice ride, if the bearings are good.

San andreas - has no right to ride as well as it does after all these years. Sublime.

Marin rift zone (or similar) also epically good for a single pivot, and cheap!

Santa Cruz heckler - see san andreas and Marin :)

Of all the full sussers I've ridden, these are the only ones I'd really want to ride again.

Or maybe... I've never ridden one, but they're supposed to be nice... nearly bought it myself tbh...viewtopic.php?f=2&t=324877&hilit=royce

I thought in one of the last threads i read somewhere i'm sure you said you were giving it all up for mini's or something to that effect! :lol: :lol:

Re:

Erm, yeah..... :oops:

But then a mate with pots of money decided he was going to get back into Minis and build a race one, so I'm waiting to see what happens there. Have the fun at his expense! :D
