I saw this pic of mrlee a few weeks ago and now im totally in love with the drilled design of these Stronglight chain rings.
The problem is there are none of them with the right BCD for me which is 110/74mm.
Are there any other 110/74mm chain rings with a similar design out there?
I did some google research but couldn't find something as beautiful as these Stronglight chain rings.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Lots of that stuff made in Drillium was done in the back of bike shops by enterprising mechanics. As said, a pillar drill, careful marking and screwing the thing to a thick offcut of MDF to hold it is the way to go... 8)

If you can find some Chris Bell Eggrings they were often drilled. And they are the best chainrings in the world ever.

Thanks for all that input guys!

The last time i tried to drill out a screw on my front mech i made these beautiful piece of art:

So the Black & Decker will stay safely in its box for sure.

But if anyone wants to go that route i found some excellent description on how to do it right. This chap has some serious skills.

I think those Eggrings might be a really good quality choice but when i look at them i feel kind of seasick. :)

I will wait and see what Santa Claus has for me and after that i will call that man Matthias. Thanks for that link. That was exactly what i was looking for. 8)

Best ever, just sad that he stopped making them:

These were from his 'selling ring stock sale'!

 I never took them pics for you, I will try again and post them here, good look with the searching, I think I might take them off for winter as there too nice to be chewed up with peak district grit stone.
the inner two rings are the same as the outer but they face the other way,
this may be wrong but it seems right.

I've been thinking of buying an indexed table for my pillar drill for just this reason!

In fact, Machine Mart is calling :D

Take a look at this. If you've got really good eyes, you'll note that the big ring is drilled. This is about 1992 and I worked on a military airfield with decent engineering facilities. You might note some CNC work to the cranks too :D

My old Proflex. I've never seen another with that front triangle design (the raised downtube with a brace down to the BB shell). Anyone identify it for me as I've long since forgotten?!

@apache:

Thanks for that really nice blast-from-the-past photo! 8)
I'm not really a Proflex expert and also not good at guessing but i take a shot and say it is a 1991 Proflex Climber.

I really would love to drill some chainrings myself but without the right tools i think i won't be able to drill even one straight hole.

Dear Santa when i'm grown up i want my own fully featured work shop....
