Recommend me some Campy brake levers

There were only a few designs of Campag Brake levers so pick any that you can find at a reasonable price. :) and then worry about the gum hoods.

The early Campag levers were a little more curved and the later one's a bit straighter.

Gran sport had the campagnolo name vertically at the front not in a box, the NR had a slightly smaller campagolo but in a box with a point at the bottom. SR were drilled NR. Aside from the drilling for SR from a couple of feet away they all look the same.

As mentioned it's the hoods that are a pain if you want originals.......... especially the globe one's which have been priced at £200 for NOS including the levers!!

If you are like me and endeavor to make every part period correct then you will need the early lever with the curved tip and world logo hoods. (reproductions hoods are acceptable)

Re:

Well, after a bit of a pause I have some parts at last. A 112mm record BB so at last I can get the cranks on. A front derailleur for the probable case that the old Simplex suicide won't cut it, and finally some super record brake levers which are in lovely condition. A bit of a mix but all 60s / 70s. I have held off buying a LH lever on a band, but I may mount that above or below the opposing boss and mod a matching campy lever for the braze on. Cables next. Where do I find these in a period look and nice repro hoods for the levers? I will probably go for gum colour. Pedals can wait until the right thing turns up. I will just stick clipless on it for general riding as that's what I use normally. I should really remove temptation and send the wheels off for rebuild now, as I will only want to glue the tubs on and ride it as soon as it is all together.

So the look is going to be a '54 Hetchins survivor in its faded original paint and pitted chrome with a 60s/70s Capagnolo upgrade, riding on 50s Fiamme sprints and Gran Sport hubs. Conti Gatorskin tubs and Koolstop pads as I intend to thrash this thing :D
