Hello folks, as per the title I'm after a recommendation for a cart for a turn table.

I've been given a Goldring GL75 deck with no cart. I don't want to spend silly money.

Cheers.

Ortofon are pretty good VFM IMHO...

If you don't mind supporting a danish company after the marmite palaver that is.

Back in the day, I had a secondhand Garrard turntable and bought an Audio Technica AT-95 cartridge for it. At the time, all the hi-fi magazines raved about what great value for money it was.

Looks like they're still available...

(Off topic: Last week, I sold all my vinyl -- about 20 or 25 albums -- to the guy in the local secondhand record shop. He gave me a tenner!   )

Well the bits box has thrown up an Audio Technica AT455ex cart with no needle. Any one know if these are any good and what needle they take? There are millions out there.
