One of my lads at work has a modern Mongoose BMX and it has a 9 tooth rear sprocket which spins in both directions.
I've got no knowledge of terminology or how to go about repairing it, and pointers to YouTube sites etc. as i'm having no luck at all. Thanks in advance.

its a freewheel and you are best getting the right tool to remove it, even though you can remove them without. You can also clean them out, shouldnt be worn if its a new bike. If you search bmx freewheel removal there should be some videos im sure :?
