Reasons for selling bikes/parts/other

I do find it odd. Surely the fact that it's up for sale indicates that it's no longer needed, you need the money or the space. That's all I need to know. The fact that your dog got a £3000 vet bill that needs paying is of no consequence to me.

I've bought some items in that exact scenario. Vet bills can come very unexpectedly, and prompt fire sales. Like 'moving abroad', it is best to be cautious.

I agree.... reason for selling can be varied...

I once sold a 2006 Trek 8000 so I could purchase a Les Paul Studio guitar for my 12 year old daughter for Christmas.

I hadn't really been riding that point much in my life, and I was aware I could get good-but-fair money for it, and well Christmas was coming up and a buddy in the music biz was selling a Les Paul Black Beauty Studio... and he was willing to me a KILLER deal on it for my daughter (whom he knew - he even threw in a mini Marshall amp on the deal).

I have never, not once, missed that bike. Ended up replacing it with my 2000 Rocky Hammer Race which I still have and ride to this day and WAY prefer as a ride for myself.

Here is my question.... is there a thread for bikes we let go, and have never missed?

I know there are a few threads for "wish I never let it go"... but can't seem to find one for bike we owned, maybe even loved while we rode them, but we have never missed them, pined over them or such...
