Rear shock removal?

Careful if drilling out the cable guide rivets, you'll be left forever with littlr bits of rivet inside the top tube that go 'clink-clink' over every bump. . .
Bottom of the seatstays, there is an e-clip in the bolt. And the chainstay pivot shld have had a dab of loctite in it. But go eacy, you don't want to split anything or make it 'out-of round'.

Have you tried all the different types of bottom bracket spanners, for old school cup 'n cone jobbies may fit.

yeh, thats how I got mine out in the past. The hook type BB tool. Be careful when removing the c-clips as they have a tendency to bend & snap! I believe yeti on occasion have still advertised replacement bushings, so it would be a good time to replace those too.

hairstream, old fat chance fork in the background? nice whatever it is ;)

The shock has been successfully removed. Used the 2 pin BB Cup wrench. The tool stretched open enough to catch 2 opposing notches of the shock nut and out it came. Thanks for the tip!!

The rear stay pivots have been removed. The clips came off with no problem and are in good shape. The bushings appear to be in good condition. However, I will investigate the "new" bushings as suggested. Maybe these shrink with age and create slop in the rear triangle? Appreciate the input!

The BB pivot "bolt" is another thing. I have removed the 8mm allen bolt on one side (this bolt goes through a alloy "cap" and screws into the opposing "half" of the pivot). On the other side of the pivot there is a larger Allen wrench hole (it appears that this half of the pivot goes all the way through to the other side and is attached via the 8mm allen bolt (removed earlier). Both the "cap" and this "bolt" appear to have been installed with Locktite or are press fit. I am wondering what the best way to get them out will be. If I just put a large allen wrench on it and start trying to break it loose (as if I were trying to unscrew it) it wants to flex the frame mount and it feels really sketchy!! Maybe after supper I will get up the nerve to really reef on it. Perhaps it is supposed to be pressed out?

Anyway, I am further along thanks to the responses on the forum.

Appreciate the help guys.

Oh yeah... boxcrown Fat Fork in the background (cool gussets, huh?)

I will send the shock into Risse and have them go through it.

jim-laden, you crack me up.

The paint is really hammered, just doesn't come through in the pics.

Hole between top tube and head tube allows for removal of pop-rivets. I did the same on my old Funk. It's scary, but do-able.
