Welcome to RBotM May 2025! Open Month
If it's retro, it's in!

Well, we have had a month off to recharge, rebuild, fine tune and now, finally you are able to enter it for RBotM May 2025!
So lets get these entries rolling!
Usual rules, 1 entry per member, 2 phots, write a brief couple of sentences to describe and add a link to more information, be it a webpage, readers ride thread etc. Entries close the last few minutes of the month with a five day poll to decide the winner.
Here's one I rode earlier ;)

Looking forward to seeing the entries, maybe I'll even take something for a spin in the sun to get one in myself.

This might be a 'site suggestions' type question but it would be good to see the RoadBOTM appearing on the front page/social media posts. Any chance of that happening? It's a shame to not show off some of the amazing restorations and builds to a wider audience.

It would be nice...the homepage is still 100% MTB. I know this has been raised before, but it is a bit of a shame it's still the case (whilst fully appreciating it may take quite a bit of work behind the scenes to implement this?).

Fully agree.

Finally finished a bike for the new season. '87 Tommaso TA 5000 badged/panto'd alloy lugged frame (ALAN manufactured the frame). Campagnolo Victory/Triomphe group, Ambrosio cockpit, Profil saddle (not orig.), Mavic G.E.L 28O tub on Ofmega hubs ( wheels not orig.), Wellgo (Look copy) pedals.

1987 ALAN frame (aka Guerciotti Sprint model) Victory-Triomphe gruppo.webp 1987 ALAN frame, Tommaso head lugs, fork crown.webp

Had been searching for a Clive Stuart for a good many years, finally found a frameset (perfect fit and in the race colourway, :)) only 20 miles away. Needed a fork tweak, and the gentleman who fixed that was also interested in assembling as he has a CS with a serial number not too far off my serial #181. Bob's is #216. We were attempting to identify the builder and are guessing either Paul Washington or possibly Alex Bird. Also, estimating the year as 1968 but might be off a year (any info assist?).

Built as a rider for my big hills, Bob offered to modify a NR rear der with long cage. And the smaller rings are for my 74 yo legs. A quick steering response, predictable for a race model, the build did not disappoint. And with Veloflex tubulars at 27mm it rolls along nicely and comfortably. Forgive the clipless pedals, it's the only way I spin.

2 pictures from me and a link to Bob's Flickr.
