still awaiting any123's report from the field...regrading a likely Backwoods or Tempest frame that has had the paint stripped off it.

going tomoz after 6. i will take some pics dont worry guys. does anyone know the code to post pics in the forum topic. i used to use apple gallery but now thats gone i use smugmug and i cant do the link for photos to show up in forum

thanks andy
Did manana ever come? And if so, what's the scoop?

'cos we went from hand-waving dismissal of all the sceptics by the seller, to yanking the auction, and what appears to be a big rubbery one - so, um, where's all this talk of rare prototype, now?

going tonight i have just been busy. I will look at the frame but what i am more wanting is the fact that he has some components for me to look at.

I don't know If I'd believe that video, after all he starts off by saying with a big shit-eatin grin that he's down i the deep dark mountains in Switzerland... While Hans was an important figure with GT he was not constantly at the factory and wouldn't really have any knowledge on how many prototype frames were ever made in the first place. As fast as things moved around the production floor he'd have needed to be there 100% of the time to know that.

Good point. He adds weight though.

Is there anyone you can think of to verify the frame?

Apparently, Richard Long passed away and Gary turner left GT in the early 90's.

Don't get me wrong. It looks like what most have implied - some early to mid 90's Al frame that's been paint stripped. An avalanche comes to mind.

But let's see. It's possible that the odd prototype frame could have been made.

I agree - it would be best if one of the factory floor people at the time could attest to the stampings.

Seems like this soap opera has withered.

Is it safe to say it's not some uber-rare Zaskar prototype, then, and just somebody a bit confused about a more average GT?
