Raliegh 853 team frame

What size is it do you reckon? It says Louise Robinson rides a 52cm road bike, so that would make this about 15", 16"? Looks a bit bigger than that. I'm asking because I might have a punt.

Which the same seller also has listed it would appear.

Forum member 'Bikemesiter' is the chap to ask with regard RSP details.

Even with one of HER frames to win the (Female) 3 Peaks 4 years on the bounce would take some serious effort!

A 52cm c-c top tube is *very* short.

I'm 5-7 and I can ride a size 16 Kona very comfortably, even though I prefer size 17. The size 16 has a 53.8cm c-c top tube. I believe the Kona size 14 has a 52.5cm c-c top tube. I would reckon this bike could be too small for anybody over 5-4. [Which is a shame.]

I'm puzzled by the design, because even if RSP got in right at the beginning of Reynolds 853, the frame can't be any earlier than 1996. So you would think it was designed for suspension. And thus not a particularly long stem. So I doubt whether the short tt is explained by an intention to use an extra long stem. I don't think Louise Robinson was all that small, but maybe she just liked a small bike.

Anthony, I had noticed that and would tend to agree with you.

It doesn't look suspension 'corrected' at all (in as far as you can tell from a pic) which makes me think it was done for rigids as she was a CX rider primarily...?

Thanks for the help, probably not for me then. I still don't think it looks that small, but you can't really tell a lot from a picture of a frame with nothing else in it. I should probably just ask the seller to measure it, if he knew how to measure the road frame I can't see why he can't measure this one as well.

Edit: Actually, looking at it again, it does look very small.

i'm looking at this, guessed it was '97 cos of no canti stop
dunno about the size, didnt look so small to me, but seller claims the weight is 1.59kg, which if its accurate is a bit special.
no reason 853 cant make a frame that weight, but ive never noticed anyone actually doin it.
reserve is 99 quid by the way

I've asked the seller if he can measure it, will post the size up if he does.
