Made a start putting this together this afternoon, the paints just about dry.. 😂
Found a Tioga saddle and t-bone stem in my spares which match up with the avenger headset, bit of luck that.

Cheers, the black is Hammerite satin black from a rattle can. Then once that was dry I used an old paintbrush to drizzle the white on, which is Hammerite smooth white. The red is some modellers gloss red enamel which I flicked on with a small brush.

It looks very well done and aesthetically a nice balance of colours and paint effects. I can see the drips and flicks now. Thanks

Started putting this together with a 7 speed cassette/200lx mech/Deore thumbie. It just wasn’t working for me.

Went back to the original plan of s/s, think it’s 34/15 and even found a red chain in my spares which I think looks sick!

This has been a parts bin build and an experiment to try the single speed mountain bike experience. Everything was stripped cleaned and re-greased to get it as good as possible. Overall I’m chuffed with it and I’d recommend trying s/s if you’ve never tried it - it’s definitely a chilled way of riding. The 501 steel frame feels good and with all the excess weight of gears etc removed it is surprisingly nimble.
