Raleigh "Tour of the West"

-----

thanks for sharing this rarity 🥳

was the owner ever able to learn what years it was produced?

wonder if it may be one of those models which never got into a catalogue...

All I know is this was an example of one with regards the colour scheme.
Not sure about how true the components used ,were to the model as sold.
Chap concerned did all his own paint work and would even make his own decals if none were available. He could copy almost any printed item .
It was a shame that I lost contact. Sadly he passed away a few years ago.

frame's lug pattern NERVEX "Series Legere" Ref. 48/161

the cycle's GB Coureur 66 brakeset could well be original since it launched in 'lxii

the bicycle's model of Juy Prestige shift levers did not launch until 1970 and did not come fitted to new machines prior to the 1971 model year

the Juy Ref. 637 rear mech did not launch until 1969 so the full gear ensemble may be a replacement

the cxliv mm BCD chainsets did not exist until the late sixties

pedals appear to be hanging from chainset; do they look like Raleigh model 100?
