Raleigh Special Products with 'B' frame number?

Frame number is B with 5 digits following, I'm thinking it's not Ilkeston?

Any ideas where it was built? Nice Everest lugset and full sloping fork Crown.

B before the five numbers suggest it was around 1925 if it helps

Didn't think RSP started until 1987............ so would't it have been built in Notingham?

My mates got an '89 RSP 853 with SB 9985 on it. Did the SB numbering carry on into the 90's and the Castorama era?

I could be out here, but a distant memory tells me that around 1989/90 RSP started using frame numbers starting with A again.

I have an RSP 853 which I have confirmed is a 1999/2000 model and the number starts with K.

Last SBDU numbers from Ilkeston were 77XX (seven thousand seven hundred and something) IIRC.

My '89 raleigh banana is SB9057, I'm told that makes it a Nottingham bike.

you sure about that, shaun? mine was SB8650 and i bought that around 1986.

I saw an SB11XXX at the bike jumble in Manchester. A 753 with no real distinguishing decals other than 'Raleigh' and the thicker headbadge. Shouldve bought it!

I have a titanium(IMI) Raleigh, frame number SB9975. Don`t know what yr though although Ive been told mid `90s. Looking at the previous posts that would be more likely late `80s (if SB9985 is 1989 and assuming numbering is sequential). Does anyone have more info on these frames?
