That first pink one rings a bell, the front braze on mech for 81 doesn't seem right.

Has it cropped up before?

wasn't that first one known as "the flying condom" before?? i'm sure i recognise the weird paint job too . ..

i don't have any problems with the braze on - we used to get folk birnging their SBDU frames in for all kinds of weird and wonderful mods.

The first one is mine. And I'll take £550 for it. I'm open to being corrected. It's my first listing on ebay, so not been seen on there before, but I have posted pics up on here

I finally sold the pink peril... to the original owner. The one who had her sprayed pink and white in 1982 and had the braze on added, both by Raleigh. It was the spec he'd built it to, cheapy 600 headset as he ran out of money for Super Record one.

Under 23 or junior UK champ in 81 apparently, and did a year for an Italian team between school and uni.

He sold it in 1984 for £200.

Got £600 in the end.

Original owner getting his bike back, that's good.

On the other hand, it shows the limited market for certain colours, I suspect only Brown would be a more difficult sell.

Actually I had quite a lot of interest, and sold it twice previously, but sales fell through. The day I sold it, I had 4 offers, 2 of which I would have accepted had I not already sold it.

I am very pleased it went back to original owner. Apparently, originally it was the team red and black.
