Raleigh Road Ace Frame and forks

Okay to clear one point up, why did cyclists in the 70's, 80's and 90's love Campagnolo easy... Winning. Until 1999 no Shimano equipped had won the Tour de France, so Campagnolo + the worlds most prestigious bike race = Winning... My personal dislike of Shimano goes much deeper and is just between me and the court appointed therapist OK? That Dutch bike offers a great solution.

If I was building one up...

I know this is truly personal, the groupset principal never appealed to me loved to stir things up!!!

The Dutch bike's frame does look similar for sure.
Thanks for you take on Campag.
I was looking at Ofmega Mistral and Suntour.
I am impressed you chose Wienmann, this is what I used back in the eighties and they were very good.
So Chorus is decent kit?
just wow those sheriffs stars!
Would I be thrown to the wolves for putting Chorus on ;-)

I've bribed your therapist 😛
Your build is lovely apart from the mechs, Suntour Cyclone would be my choice, the Weinmann brake set is lovely, as is the Mistral chain set.

You asked about Campagnolo, Suntour superb pro would be my choice, the Chorus was my best compromise. 🤣 I tried to keep it mainly a Euro build.

Reiver, I have one of those Chorus mechs they shift OK and offer loads of adjustability.

Chorus is the one below Record if I've got it right, so a good group. Again there are better functioning derailleurs of the period from Suntour and Shimano.
It depends what you want as it's your bicycle. I put Dura ace and 600 on a Daccordi. I got slagged for it. Did I care? Nope because it worked silently and flawlessly.
Another thing is some idiot telling you a nose up saddle is unrideable. Again no, loads of riders ride thousands of miles on them.
Your bike, your rules.

Yes at that time second in the order, Super record had been dropped at that time.

If you keep choosing function over form, everyone would be driving Toyota... 🤣
