Bought this for the campag Electra saddle it once wore, which is now on my pride and joy MTb, a year ago.

Finally got to this at the back of the shed, stuck some pedals on it and had a little burn up on it.

First time on a road bike in 20+ years,
Not sure about all that.

Anyway anybody know anything about these? Reynolds 653, not sure what campy group set , shimano 600 calipers for some reason, mavic rims

Any clues? Is it decent. Have also asked its value on the valuation thread.

Thanks all

Cool, thanks.

So probably pretty decent then.

If I followed the other thread correctly it's a 86?

Any one known what the campag is, is it chorus?

Re:

Had one of those. Great riding frame and I loved the paint job. Unfortunately cracked on the none drive side chain stay which I understood was quite a common problem. I had mine repaired under warranty by Raleigh and the same thing happened again. They gave me a new frame which I still have to this day but rarely ride these days.

Re:

In Tony Oliver's book he says that 653 is similar weight to 753 but without the heat treatment, and is therefore too weak for the job. I'm not sure this is quite correct but there are a fair few broken 653 frames out there. Rust usually gets 753 because of the thin walls; being strong and heat-treated means nothing to the tinworm.
