Raleigh Reynolds 531????

Hi
I found this bike in a skip the other day and thought it would make a good run around, maybe get it running and flick it on for some cash or just a little project.
I got it working on Saturday and was riding up and down the street when some old boy came cycling past telling me that it was a Raleigh Reynolds 531 from the 70's. I’ve done some research on them and can’t seem to work out exactly what it is. Can anyone on here identify it?

It has a square badge on the front with 3 rivets but it has all been painted over so it's hard to confirm the manufacturer. It has Raleigh wheels and the serial number is on the drop out as per the photo below. It has Suntour shifters, shimano brakes and a shimano 7sis rear derailleur

The number is deffo not Raleigh, doesn't look well enough made for 531. More investigation of the head badge needed :)

Re:

Thanks for the reply, obviously I was hoping that it was a 531. I'll get some more photos tonight and post them up, it would be nice to know what it is.

Is the rear brake bolted through a plate and not a tube? The skewers are Suzue, a popular trsining hub from the 70's...not Campag but tough and smooth :)

A real mix of components which is no bad thing.

Any chance of a pic of the head Badge ?

Re:

I'll get more pictures tonight and post them up, I live in NZ so time zones are bit out of sync. I'm a Derbyshire born and bread so the thought of a bike built in Nottingham really appealed.

Thanks

Re:

Srty but I reckon that it's nothing special. The component's are cheap but of course they could be replacements. That rear brake mounting just shouts cheap gaspipe frame to me. No doubt there are exceptions but I haven't seen one.

Yes that's a Miyata, which makes sense bearing in mind where you are.

The stamped steel dropouts and rear brake bridge all point to it being very modest, but it's perfectly suited to what you want it for.

Still, it was free and you saved it from being scrapped!
