Raleigh Mirage post rebuild and paint job

Rebuilt this bike this summer and it's turned out to be a great ride. Out last Sunday around Strathpeffer, Dingwall and Contin and it was fantastic.

Looking good, did you do the respray yourself?

In case you didn't know that's a 1988 Mirage (my first MTB all be it in a slightly smaller size), they changed to cantilever brakes on the rear in 1989.

Cheers for that. I had an idea it was from about then. It was bought second hand by my father in the west of Ireland. I brought it back to Scotland and it sat for 2 year doing nothing. It was a case of doing something with it or ditch it. It turns out that it is a great ride. I did some technical riding on it on Sunday and it was great. The wider handle bars really make it comfortable to ride. I use it mainly on the road hence the Sammy Slick tyres.
