This was my first mountain bike at 13 years old. It was part of the Town and Country range Raleigh did at the time and was burgundy with white decals. I had never seen another one all this time until last year when I drove past a guy riding one. I had to get it, you know that feeling! I pulled over up the road and got out then asked him to stop. I explained my history with the model of bike, (it wasn't my old one unfortunately) and asked if I could buy it. He explained that he needed it as it was his only form of transport and was currently learning to drive. I left him my numbers and insisted he rang me when he was ready to part with it.
I forgot about it or gave up until Thursday evening when he rang to say he passed his test and I could buy it! I arranged to meet at his home Friday afternoon and after a short while we had a deal.
I dropped it straight off literally round the corner at my local bike shop, Portsmouth cycle exchange, where I have been going for 24 years!. It needs a good few parts from BB bearings to full cable set, nothing I cant do but time is against me what with long hours at work, young family, selling house etc, like I needed another bike project!
I am after any information, photos and specs, on the bike so I can try to get it as period as possible again. It has a different left crank arm at the mo and a different rear wheel but I need to know the exact items I am after before I ask out. I just cant find any trace of it anywhere on the net. Many thanks!
