hi, im new on here as you may well tell, just finished the rebuild on my mighty Heron.
1994 raleigh mtax 1000. owned this since new but been sat in garage for years not doing much.
bike was full alivio group when new but i have upgraded with mostly new or nearly new parts that i have had in my collection or scoured the bay for.

spec:
reynolds K2 frame
diacompe aheadset
mavic x221/317 rims
shimano deore lx m563/565 hubs stainless spokes. panaracer fire xc tyres
deore lx m563 chainset (hand polished),front mech and rear mech
deore lx m563 rapid fire sti
deore xt m734 cantilevers
un52 bb,lx 7spd cassette,sedis chain.
kalloy uno stem and seatpost
mwave alloy h/bars and zoom bar ends
new m system and sis sp cables

Froome,really suppose he had to start somewhere
i know its not exactly exotic or mega rare but its nostalgia my first proper mtb after a marauder,
ive rebuilt it to the spec i wanted when i bought it back in 94, not sure my back can deal with the riding position for too long though :cry:

I had one of these during the time i owned it i also owned a '93 kilauea, a '96 kilauea and a proflex 856. With upgrades i still rode it a lot, very nice frame and perfect geometry for me. I can not for the life of me remember what happened to it though :facepalm:
