Raleigh Dyntatech Encounter 1990

I bought the Raleigh Dyntatech Encounter new in Aug 1990 for £660, it has All the original equipment with upgrade XT thumb shifters and diacomp brake levers. The original De ore LX STi levers and brakes with dirt covers are also included.

The groupset is Deore LX as original. The tyres and seat are the only changed items, seat is specialized, tyre are cheep unbranded ones from halfords. I still have (if a little perished) the original Michelin folding tyres in a box it you want restore it to be totally factory set-up.

There is also a Onza Bar ends fitted.

Bad points. Paint has been allot better, a respray would be good if you can get the original stickers. Slight kerb damage to the Rigida 400 rim at the back, but doesn't effect use. Slight play in the original bottom bracket! Tyres are cheap rubbish and splitting.

I've had many hours of fun on this bike but im moving away and I need to reduce the number of bike I have. I was 18 when i bough it, I'm 40 this year!!!

£150 ono for a very original early MTB.

Good point! It's a 19in frame, I'm 5' 11" and found it perfect.

That is a beauty!I would seriously consider selling this if I was you £150 for 22 years of ownership doesn't sound like a lot to me. But if I had the cash I would still be cruel and have it off you but alas the wife would destroy me if I did!Have a free bump.

Wow....blast from the past there - I remember these when I was first into MTBs - I still have my 1990 Kona Cindercone! Before that I had a Raleigh Discovery and remember lusting after your bike! Hope it goes to a good home.
