Update
So, last weekend was quite nice and I decided that myself and Junior would get the bikes out and go to the woods for a bit. There are some nice trails in there, one in particular is very good but its a 2km slog up hill followed by a really nice trail back down.
The brakes (lack of) was the first thing that struck me, whilst the tree that nearly struck me was a close second. I now remember why I binned the Canti's off my old MTB. Next up, no suspension and the bike was a little bit skittish on the downhills, but it wasn't that bad however and I have ridden a lot worse, might try slightly less tyre pressure next time.
What really impressed was how it climbed. I am not an owner of many MTB's to compare it to, but it was so light, easy going and actually very stable at low speeds. Even with clips / straps it was not a lot of effort at all and picked up speed nicely when necessary.
So, I think all in all, I like it. Which is handy. Sorry for the awful pics, camera phone specials.
