Race Face Evolve XC.. Chainring options?

I have the cranks below..

104 BCD / 170mm / 44t

But am finding it too slow. Can some kind soul point me in the direction of a larger compatible main ring?

Any 4 arm 104 BCD chainring should fit.

But in general chainrings are expensive when compared to the price of a whole chainset. :?

It may be steel, but as I have three stainless rings on my cro-mega that wouldn't worry me

Thank you! Wouldn't bother me either it being steel, in fact i like its industrial simplicitity.. as i never shift front rings too the lack of features won't be a factor either.

What size cassette have you got? You might be able to gain some ratio there?

The Surly stainless rings on my cro-mega are plain cut, so no ramps or anything, and they change gear fine with DX thumbies

Exeter Man.. i did start out from that pov but it turns out i already have 11t on the back end .. that is the smallest you can go right?

We_are_Stevo .. i do worry a bit about hitting the chainstays then having to spoil my chainline with a wider axle. Thoughts?

EDIT: Just seen the Cro-Mega so i guess you don't have to worry at all about the chainstays! Great idea that..
