My 1990 DB Ascent has a quill stem. I've been toying with the idea of changing it for a quill stem adaptor thereby opening up a whole new world of bar choices, stem length and angles.
I've been led to believe that my bike has a 1 1/8 inch headset but every quill stem adaptor I've seen is for a 1" to 1 1/8". I might be answering my own question here (sorry if I am) but would I need to use a shim to accommodate the excess 1/8 inch??
