Quick one, Dia-Compe SS7 or SS5?

I quite like SS4's too :)

Either in reality, one was a short lever and one was a long lever version. Is or there about it was more he pull iirc.

Ss5 has a more expensive construction

Cheers mate, them' the ones! Still think the ss5 looks best. Saying that, I have m732 xt levers that look even better! Now to decide if a suntour or xt build is the way to go?

Mix it up :-D

Re:

Had thought that and it would be the way if I went XT as I'm missing the period wheels and canti's.

Suntour wise I have the lot except seatpost but have the correct Orange one to replace the XT from the other build. Leaning towards Suntour as the gear I have got is lovely, right down to the QR's. 8)

Suntour wins out for me every time for the looks and i've only ever used SS5's and loved them even though they do tend to become a bit loose it didn't affect their performance ..

Re:

SS5 are more sexy and later, Cannondale used them in several colors…
Perhaps SS7 are better but they look too classic in my opinion, too near Shimano or Tektro design…

I found the SS5 to have the best feel of any lever for cantis, except maybe the Shimano servowave levers. What's more, the SS5 was the only lever I ever managed to get my Shimano U-brake working as well as a v-brake...

As far as colours go, I have seen SS5s in blue or purple on ebay once or twice.
