Question about downtube aero shifters

Hi guys!

I'm planning to rebuild a 80's Zullo time trial frame. The frame has to be fitted with down tube aero shifters. But i'm not sure which brand/type!

Below are some pictures of the shifter mounts on the downtube.
Does anyone know which shifters can be fitted on these mounts? I was thinking myself of Shimano 600 shifters (see pic at bottom).

Thanks in advance!

The single threaded boss is all that's needed to mount the levers - you can see the impression in the paint of the mounting block. The other holes look like they've been made for internal cable-routing.

Thanks for the replies! :) So am i right that every single bold aero-shifter (like the Shimano 600 pictured above) can be mounted on this frame?

Yvo,

From my Gazelles and Kogas I know the assembly bolts on top a block that sits brazed onto the frame. I would think with that single hole like on your frame the assembly is more likely to twist if you put force on it.

It could be there were issue for normal/round tubing and aero tubing, but I am not sure of that.

I would ask Mario himself.

The absence if the fitting also explains the 4 marks on your frame.
