Project 752 Proflex

Heres my 752 its in many many pieces ready for an overhaul and some new paint the only things on it that doesn't need work is the forks and Stem, BB is knackered as is the headset the rear forks are rusted and the elastomers are long gone replaced with crumbling landrover bushs
I like a challenge !!
the rear swing-arm is going to be black when i'm finished to match the F & R forks think this will look better than the silver it was originally

does anyone have a 1 1/4" girvin flexistem in good condition they would swap for a 1 1/8" one must have cable hanger doodad

My 552 is very similar to yours if not the same and also in bits. I've really got to get my act together and re-assemble it before I forget how it goes or lose something.

Just thinking outloud, but could you not get some sort of shim and use the 1&1/8 stem if you can't get a 1&1/4?

yeah i have a chris king devolution and i'm toying with the idea of using that but if i do i have a set of girvin vector 2's i could use

Something will probably turn up and make your mind up. I couldn't decide what mechs to use on mine then a DX rear came up at the car boot on Sunday morning for £2 followed by the matching front on Ebay that evening for 99p. Everything is now in place, just need to get my backside into gear.

I don't know what a Devolution is but I'm guessing it's a reducing headset, I just meant go as you are and just shim the smaller flexstem.

Would be nice to see a build thread when you get going .

stripped and painted the swingarm and rear forks removing BB and headset tomorrow pictures to follow
