yup he said he bought the light blue carrera and then his mate pointed out it was lady specific geometry, so he was going to give it to the GF.
I spoke to him about me liking old bikes, and he never mentioned the proflex.
the more i think about it the more i think he knew a lot about bikes, nothing was original on the GT and i think the mate he has who knows about bikes is actually himself.
he lives in relatively affluent Shirley so has a bit of cash, and if you want a bike and know nothing you go to Halfrauds. there are also two bikes shops very close by to him also, REDKITE, sells high end Marins and Scotts Cycles
he was selling the GT so he says because he got the carrera , he was selling the carrera because it was a womans, i met with him just after he had bought the proflex and it wasnt mentioned, all a bit strange,
but as said he seemed decent enough and I believe he does indeed have the proflex. I would perhaps check if i was whoever bought it that i was getting what was described, that the risse and other bits hadnt been removed or swapped though.
maybe he just thought it better to pretend he knew nothing about bikes when selling the GT to me, coz he would have to admit it had been ragged, and he needs the birthday excuse to justfy selling the proflex or otherwise you would think it was fucked too, selling it so soon after buying
perhaps we are all reading to much into this though

and there may be a bragain, but then i also doubt that the bike will sell for anything less that what he paid too
