Old School Grand Master
I bought this last weekend without a size mention so after quite a long drive I found it it was the small version and not the large I needed being 6ft 3. As they rarely come up and even more so in this condition I bought it and brought it back. All I have done since is to give it a good clean.
The frame is Easton ali made in the states, is labelled as a small but I found it more like a medium so I took some measurements. from the floor to the top of the seat tube is 31 inches and from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the headstock is 21 inches. From the centre of the crank to the top of the frame just infront of the seat tube is 17 inches
The frame is in good condition with no cracks, splits, breaks, dents or dings
The shocks are noleen and work like they should with no pogoing or sloppy action
The carbon crosslink girvins and the rear carbon swing arm are both in excellent condition with no breaks, delamination or chunks missing and the drop outs are securely fastened as they should be.
the linkages all work fine with up and down movement but no side to side movement
at some time in it's life some components have been replaced. It still has the xt front mech and a fsa/orbit headset, but a standard shimano rear mech , the shifters and brake levers are basic shimano with the brakes themselves being deore v's. ..that said the bike works perfectly.
bad bits..all bikes have them..the seat has side tears from wall leanage, the rear wheel needs a true and the pedals will probably need to be changed. it has the usual swirls and occasional stone chips but thats about it
beyond that for a bike made in 1997 it is in good order and rare to find one without cracks and with working good condition noleens and girvins
had this been a large frame I would have kept it.
I appreciate some will want just the frame, swingarm and forks..I'm happy to do that but the price will be the same wether you have the full bike or as parts.
If you want to view..or view on behalf of someone else then we are in Cambs near Wisbech
I am not to comforteable sending the bike by courier even less so with carbon but if you need to have it sent I will do my best in packing it for your own courier to collect..as long as I have an am or pm slot to be avaliable for pickup
I'm asking for £250..thanks for looking
