Proflex 855 with Pace and Air Shock (Sold)

This was my fathers bike and has done less than 500 miles.I have had it for a couple of years and have been out on it precisely twice,so another one has to go,in this case a Proflex 855.

This was bought new in 1995 and was specified at the time with the Pace forks. These work freely and seem to have around 2" of movement in normal cycling, not an expert but look like RC35 MXCD to me.The bike was stored indoors in sunlight and eventually the rear elastomer hardened,at this point it was fitted with a Risse Racing Genesis rear shock (62mm travel). This has done so little miles that it has yet to have its first service.

The combination of shocks works well, the back end in particular is streets ahead of an elastomer bumper, and the whole bike feels really nice.

Frame size is medium (18") as pictured it suits me at 6 ft and my father is 5'10"
Wheels are Stheno on LX hubs
XT 8 speed shifters are immaculate
XT rear and front derailleur
LX brakes
Chainset is low end Shimano, pedals are cheap SPD

I can break the bike and sell the individual items on eBay but if anyone is interested in the whole bike I would like £200

Re: Proflex 855 with Pace and Air Shock

Yes,the bike has hardly been used.Gears shifters and gears particularly are in good condition,Pace forks have original elastomers but work well, and the Risse Racing rear shock was specifically designed for this bike.Seems a shame to break the bike.

That is lovely. If I were not in culling mode I would be very up for buying it. Good luck with the sale.
