Hi folks I bought this today from quite a poor photo on eBay but I could tell it was old and interesting. I thought it may be a steel stumpy from the dropouts and a cable clamp on the crossbar for running v brakes. But from the photo it was inconclusive. Also it has remote locking forks that will run v brakes I was interested in trying on a different project so I couldn't resist.

Pretty sure it's a 96 steel stumpjumper. Confirmation would be nice if anyone can confirm. Not sure what to do with it. Yet but it's had a respray already which is a bit worse for wear so I may use this as my first full resto project.

I don't think Stumpjumpers had the top rack mounts on the seatstay. However, Hardrocks and Rockhoppers did, and I expect that it is one of those.
