I had Sante on a Raleigh Record Ace Moderne ages ago. My least favourite bike I think I've owned, just too twitchy. But the Sante looked good apart from the cranks which looked scruffy quite quickly, the laquer peeled.

From Shimano, the best looking for me is Dura Ace 7700. Dura Ace 7400 was also nice, but 7800 had hideous those bulbous cranks, and everything after that is an abomination of asymmetry and cheap finishes. Because of their painted finishes, all Shimano groupsets look the same now.

Campagnolo C Record was their pinnacle, but I love the angular Victory chainset, and monoplanar brakes have a beauty.

I also love the industrial looks of the Mavic rear derailleurs, and the Simplex/Mavic SSC downtube shifters are magnificent.

For me it is the Shimano 7700 25th anniversary groupset, I fitted up my good summer bike with it back in the early 2000s and it has been there ever since (obviously certain parts are not original due to them being seen as consumable items such has the chain - however I use a Rohloff chain which I feel is the finest chain ever made anyway).
The shape and design of the components are very nice; the mirror finish of the anniversary groupset is what makes it stand out from the normal 7700 series, honestly you would not believe how stunning it looks like on a bike and moving. If it is sunny and the sun is behind me, the glint from the crank arms is something else. Having seen other groupsets in the flesh, nothing comes close. As with most groupsets like this, they are kept stored away and never used which is a shame so my experience of seeing it actually moving is probably very rare and why most people won't ever consider this groupset as one of the best looking as it is hardly ever seen on a bike.
However - it is a limited edition groupset. If we are talking about a standard groupset, then my personal favorite is the early-mid 1990s Campagnolo Record with Delta calipers. The design of the component set is really stunning; very simple and understated. The rear derailleur for example is stunning with its gentle curve round, and of course the Delta brakes are a modern design classic.

For me it's a toss-up between Golden Arrow and Arabesque. Both are very tasty, Golden Arrow looking a bit more modern.

Designs I really love are those where form follows function, are well executed and came out looking great too. Exhibit 1: the French "5 vis" cranks and chain rings.

Put one together for mrs non-fixie last week:
