Pick up only bargain if nearby, just add wheels..

..and some new forks, some decent parts and a new frame and you'll be half way there.

Hi Coomber. If I was near to the seller, I'd buy that.

Since it was new, I've done many hundreds of miles on my '93 Sahara, and even though I've replaced the forks, brakes, crankset and mechs in the last couple of years, it's still a damn good bike.

Forks are awful I'll give you that. Most of the parts arent amazing either but seeing as it is likely to go for about £10 I think you'd be hard pressed to get more smiles per £ spent on much else bike related :D

Yeah it is a half decent frame by the looks of it. Similar to one of mine here.

I'd guess it's from the 1994 range. The frame won't be particularly light but they are well built and ride nicely, but the forks will be well worth upgrading.
The components on that one would also benefit from a few upgrades too.

I'd be tempted if I had more space and didn't already have one like it.

Bad man! Now you should know better

As always, I'm just a shite stirrer when in comes to low end bikes, I just don't see why Altus equipped bikes should figure on a site like this. But then I am an elitist hater of the poor who also hates emoticons that would otherwise show my use of sarcasm or humour.

Not everybody has the budget to blow on rusty overpriced American tubing so they have every right to start somewhere, even if it is at the bottom of the pile.

I refer the learned gentleman to my previous comment. Still doesn't stop it being shite though. No one should have to suffer Altus, especially not a mountain bike fan.
