Help me out here guys....
I've been tempted by the dark side.... the 700c dark side.
If ... If I were to offer my Merlin frame up for sale - at £500 - would there be any interest from the esteemed membership of RB?
If I get interest - at the right price - I'll sell.
Frame only - not the other bits pictured.

Frame dimensions:
15" seat tube C-C, 16.75" C-T
21.75" top tube C-C
16.75" chainstay
Head tube 95mm

Previously owned by Wadsy - he bought it here http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;t=247772
I thought he'd won BoTM with it but can't find the thread.

Re:

Lovely that Adrian... Good luck with sale. I too have been dallying with the 700c devil!

Room for both codes in your life in my opinion!

Re:

@HB - I'll ask him later
@Ringo - 26" & 700c can get along just fine. I have no time for Road Vs MTB - I'll happily ride both

Its an interesting frame this one but I don't think its a XLM. The seat stays and seat clamp say its a Mountain and if the decal on the seat tube is original then it should have double butted on it. The serial number should be XMxxx if it is a XLM and not the 5 digit number used on the Mountains. The only XLM detail I can see is the cable hangar.

This may come across like I'm pissing on your fs thread but not at all. I saw Shoguns original thread for this and pondered it for a while, came to the above conclusion and then pm'd him offering the full asking. I was 3rd in line and then I was pm'd to say it was sold :( . In hindsight I'm glad i missed out as I was able to find my XLM soon after but its still a great frame and a great price too. Here's one the same size that sold at the weekend for £700 posted - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281905665414

Re:

Hi Fudd, no offense taken m'dear :)
I agree - it's not Mountain or XLM - hence why I posted links to the back story.
But it is an absolute joy to ride!

£500 funds my next purchase and if someone here on RB gets a bit of a bargain - then so be it.
If no-one here is interested - then it's off to the Bay of E
