possibly 1995/6 Hei Hei

I'm so sorry, I was in too much of a hurry. I do think Hei Hei cable routing may be a movable feast (after all, your own 97 KK doesn't have the standard 97 routing, does it?), but I'm now not sure what this is so I'll change the title of the thread.

20" 1997 frames have top tube routing for all cables but I have no idea why.

The cable routing and frame numbering system also give away the 97 models too e.g. my 97 KK frame number is K20xxx (not giving away the actual frame number) for 98-00 the frame numbers start KK20xxx.

Simliarly a 97 Hei Hei frame number will be something like B20123 and a 98-00 will be KH20123

With all Hei Heis and King Kahunas if I was a serious buyer, I'd ask for the frame number as this also confirms the frame size beyond doubt.

When I first looked at the photo I did actually wonder why somepone would take off the orginial 99 Z2 Superfly and put a Judy on there.

I also must be one of the few people out there that likes the red paint on the headtube and matching red Race Face Turbines and superfly of the 99 Hei Hei. It I could find a 99 in a 19 or a 20 then thats how I'd build it up.

I think most of them were bought as frames, so you hardly ever see one that looks like the catalogue bikes. Of the nine photos in my modest 1999 collection, only one has the spec kit.

I do agree with you as far as the orange KK is concerned, if not the red. I think the coloured front was an option and if my collection of photos is any guide, two thirds of buyers opted for the ti front, so you're not alone but you're not in a majority. Often a good place to be IMO.

Mines a 95/96 and stickers don't look like that ... should get on and sell it
Judging from the decals, yours is a 1995. I hope I've got that right!

Well the frame number is B19828
It's heading for the bike stand tonight to be stripped down !!
(her indoors is out so can strip in the house)

Andrew says that means it's the 828th size 19 they made, but unfortunately it doesn't tell us the year!
