Position of Simplex rear derailleur

Retro Newbie
Hello,

I am setting the rear Simplex mech who is in the photos.

After putting it, I think that the default position, with the notch stop linked correctly with the frame, is too up and/or horizontal, but this mech don't have any screw like the new ones for modify the position.

It work well (for a 30+ years desing), well, backpedal isn't too fine. I think that maybe it was designed for an other derailleur hanger?

Any help will be helpful.

Thanks,

There should be a stop on the dropout at about 7 O'Clock as you look at it.......... the plate of the mech sits into it and keeps it tensioned.

After yours indications I looked for the stop in the dropout and was there:

But I can't locked the plate of derailleur on it because it passed over it, it's bigger.

Well, viewing the plate I fall into the double lock, a small that I used and an other large usable if the plate turns.

With the large lock stopping with the frame, it looks great!

Thanks
