poll: you find a perfect one. you ride it or not?

Ride it. As above it's a bike.
I cause more damage to mine getting them in an out of the shed than riding.
I'm not precious about cables and chainrings which is what get worn out most.

Re:

There is a high chance that it is the "perfect one" loosely based on the past, the one you never got, blah, blah...Either way a classic bike from that period.

What would you have done with it back in the day?

Straight round to your mates house probably!!

Ride it, or start collecting lladro figurines instead. They are intended to be looked at through a glass partition.

Re:

Option 2 for me. I wouldn't use it often, just when the mood takes you. Don't see the point of 3 if it's as mint as you say. The enjoyment for me would be riding around on a mint bike just like it would have been bitd. If you change half the parts you may as well just buy a modern bike.

Yep full agree, 2 all day long. Why not? To protect your investment? Never going to be worth much, so Ride it while you can

When I got my Xizang it was 20 years old and had never been ridden.

Fixed that the first weekend.

Re:

Ride it period.

I have my Kona Hot backed up by a Kilaeua for a similar feel geometry etc..
The Kilauea is definitely the thrashing bike, but once the Hot is back together
from a refresh it will be ridden as well, just maybe, not quite as hard or as often.
