Please help me save my GT!

I had to do that on an Orange frame years ago, it's satisfying to pull out the melted remains - if you heat gently you might not damage the paint.

I would suggest looking up media blasters on google in you area to take to old paint off then have it repainted to bring it back to new.

Sure someone on here will know a good painter........

Does anybody think I get get it out without destroying the paint with a blowtorch???

Saw through it in a few places until you get to the steel of the BB shell.

It'll pry/drive out after that.

World Ranger - I'm in Oxford. The bike is going to be a commuter. This forum is disturbingly inspiriational - I'm sort of glad I didn't have to get it repainted or powerdercoated. That would have opened a whole new can of worms!!

Andy R - thanks. Worked a treat - and not having a hacksaw blade to hand a sacrificial cheese knife did the trick!!

Sad as it is I now have to post a pic to give you the full before and after!

Thanks all.
