Retro Newbie
Hi,

Here are a few photos of my current bike. I think it's a DB but don't know for sure. Got it second or third hand from a LBS six years ago. Serial # I8E02917. Any help identifying it is appreciated.

Cheers,

Great, thanks.

Not being a native English speaker myself I still struggle with bike acronyms. I only know LBS, DBR, and BB. What does BSO stand for?

Here's more pics:

Definitely Diamond Back. Very low end. Around the turn of the century. Same stripes on seattube as my 1999 Diamondback road bike.

You know it's bad news when they only identify seattube tubing.

BSO= bike shaped object. I'd say it's half a notch above a typical BSO though.

I'm afraid you're right. If they say the seat tube is CroMoly, they usually mean that the rest of the frame is Hi-Ten (high tensile steel).

and thats rarely a good thing

Thanks guys.

I was kinda hoping she'd be a better quality bike, but that's OK. She's served me well all these years.

No need to worry about it Cleto. The low-end stuff is just as much fun and often more durable than the high-end bikes.

Personally I love these basic bikes. IMO they deserve as much attention as any other bike here.
