So...

As this daft hobby attracts more and more followers, the older stuff is drying up. We've already seen white Porc's reach silly prices, M900 has gone mad and key historic bikes are fetching the price of a two year old Mondeo.

What have you decided to stick in the loft to bring out in 10 years time with a triumphant 'ta daaa!!!' ?

Nowt. But with a bit of luck my look mi.80/mavic/record or build might get finished before then.....
Failing that, then... Well... That!

Nothing, that's not why I'm into all this; if I don't already have it then I don't want/need it (whilst freely admitting that the two are not necessarily always the same thing  )...

with my van being the last major thing to sort out before looking at mortgages etc, i will look to sell stuff in a couple of years time when i am in a position to start looking at buying a house, if i split and sold 8-10 of my bikes i think i could clear maybe 4 grand which would massively help with the deposit etc.

all my m900 stuff is pretty mint and should fetch good money, not to mention frames/wheels/forks etc.

i'll see what happens nearer the time.

so not a case of store stuff to make money but i figure i'll get some riding out of what i have then look to try and get some of that money back to help me sort things later.

that said i didn't get into this to make money but i would sell the stuff that isn't sentimental to me, certain stuff will never leave me.

i try and find a balance riding everything, but keeping certain bits of kit out of the rain and mud where i can.....(with the exception of our group rides!)....with a bit of care the only expendables on a bike are easily replaced, drivetrain, brake blocks, cables and bearings......a bike can be used and still looked after..... :D

An oldie-but-goodie Technics stack system - fully wrapped!!
Yeah I know its not a bike, but you wanna see the pathetic size of my loft hatch.....

Oh, + an old pair of Graf CX200 roller skates (They were the top-spec ones back in the day & lots more than the Bauer equivalent)

dont forget that in 10 years the bikes from late '90s / early 2000s have achieved cult status. Or in other words, the youth of today are in 10 years the enthusiasts of bikes from late '90s / early 2000s!
The question is, which modern bike or bike part from today could be vintage in 10 years? (I would retain such a thing in my attic  )
