Hi retrofolk,

Hoping you can fill me in, not literally obviously!

What are they exactly? Does anyone here own one? If so what are they like to ride?

That's all,

Thanks

Mike

I'd be ineterested to see what these are like too, like the Pug sizes and paint schemes, but I'm not sure what models are worth going for and at what prices.

Pug made some fantastic frames, but carbolite was the branding for their gas pipe

Plenty of 1990s r653 and r753 pop up on evil bay, later nineties Columbus gets involved

Re:

Yes I quite like Tel's 653 Athena, ther are a few on here.
I used to long for a 708 tubed one back in the early '90s, but there's only a ropey yellow/blue one f/s on eBay right now.
Not that I'm looking , of course   Merely observing.
Were the 753 tubed ones graphite in colour?

Mike

Carbolite frames were horrible, as was anything made with their interior brazing process, which looked marvellous, but depended upon hope and paint for any strength. I know this because of the horrible, horrible amount of broken ones that wobbled into our shop in the nineties.
