... but it winds me up
im into photography a... a bit. i have a few cameras but doing stuff on the bike i usually use my phone mainly because my hands are dirty/greasy and the phone has a plastic case and screen saver so no harm done if it gets a bit oily ... just wipe it off. and secondly because in most situations where im taking pics of bike stuff (outdoors or well lit) it takes more than acceptable pictures.

which brings me to my point  ....ebay listings with shoddy pictures..... you know the ones....subject out of focus, background in focus   do these people look at the pictures before uploading them ? maybe its more sinister ... an out of focus picture could hide a multitude of sins.

these days, even smart phones can take decent macro shots so whats thje score ?

Why do they upload really dark pictures, or tiny little pictures.

or people just uploading pictures in general... upside down, a clos eup of every part of the bike...but no picture of...the bike...

How about this beauty I came across

You'd be forgiven for thinking it was the tyre they were selling

I don't get it with bikes, how hard is it? Clear full (drive) side shot, front on 3/4, rear on (drive side) 3/4 minimum. Add some detail shots if necessary (damage, specific component highlights), easy, most ads will get the picture across with that minimum 3 shots well enough to make a judgement.

I saw one the other day, asking $2.5k USD for the bike, this is what was in the photos; stem clamp, cassette, rear brake stop, one brake caliper arm and pad (rear? I think), half of the bb/downtube/seat tube junction and a sticker, a shifter and brake lever, a tire label, and the other brake caliper arm (I presume).
Everything was pristine and the images were very well executed, but the largest vista was about 6x6" of the bike.

That's just awful, makes you wonder what goes through their heads when they're composing the advert
