Pair of excellent and very light Pete Matthews wheels for tubular tyres built using Pianni rims, bladed spokes and Shimano 600 tricolour hubs. Both are 24 spoke.
I would guess these are early 1990s - certainly would look great on any bike from the mid 80s to 90s.
Rear cassette is an 8 speed Shimano HG, 13-25. Possibly not great condition, but it's included here as an extra, really...
Very good condition wheels, spokes are all nice and tight, and they seem to run pretty true. Just a few things to note -
- rear wheel has one slightly bent spoke (see photo)
- rear hub feels like it could do with a service
- tubs definitely need replacing, they are well past it, I've left them only because I figured it's better to leave the buyer to remove the tub tape as they see best (I don't use tubs, hence the sale!)
- "Pete Matthews" sticker has come off the front rim
